NEVER beat your bodhrán skin with a sharp object!
Many makers of the skewer type are selling sticks that will cut the skin. I feel it is my duty to warn both makers and players since the original idea was mine from many, many years ago.

Neill Lyons
Neill Lyons is a fantastic bodhrán player from Dublin. Neill has recorded an album called "Skins & Sins" which is well worth a listen to. Neill made a visually stunning video of the track 'Brother Fusion' along with his brother Conor (also on bodhán) and Ruairí De Barra on guitar.

"The Ancient Music of Ireland, From the Collections of Edward Bunting - 1773-1843" was a project carried out by Seamus O'Kane and Aoibheann Devlin to help resurrect and create interest in the music collected by Edward Bunting, while living in Magilligan, County Derry.

Paul McGlinchey
Seamus has recorded on both of Paul Mc Glinchey's albums; "Unearthed" and "The Boys of the Town". Paul holds All-Ireland champion titles in; senior flute (three times), flute slow airs competition, miscellaneous instruments title and the duet competition with Barry McLaughlin.

Dan Brouder
Dan Brouder is a well-respected exponent of the West Limerick accordion style from Monagae, a parish on the outskirts of Newcastle West. Seamus has recorded with Dan on his album "The Lark's Air".

Tool-less Tensioning Knobs - 8 Point System
Seamus O'Kane has a new "round" range of tool-less, tensioning knobs available, on his 8 point tensioning system, which replace his "OK" brand.

Reworked Cam Tensioner System
Many years ago I used to make bodhráns with a plywood cam tensioned system. For no good reason I stopped making this type, but now revisit the idea because of the availability of more modern and more suitable materials.
